Scientists think that with the right technology we can bring dinosaurs back to life. We have been researching whether scientists should bring dinosaurs back to life. Scientists say they can’t bring dinosaurs back to life because the DNA is too degraded. Steve Brusatte told us:
Although Jurassic Park is a great movie, I don’t think it is very realistic. I don’t think we will ever have the technology to bring back dinosaurs. We need all of their DNA, but we have never found any dinosaur DNA. Still, even if we could, I don’t think it would be wise. Dinosaurs had their time, but then they went extinct. But some dinosaurs do live on today: birds. So let’s enjoy the great diversity of birds!”
Well, as you can see, this truly is a hot topic. What do you think? Of course we can see that it would be fascinating to see a dinosaur in real life. However, would it be safe? Our world is full of danger as it is – would bringing dinosaurs back not just create an additional danger? We think so. What do you think?
We have been chatting to Steve Brusatte, world famous and hugely respected Palaeontologist and co-creator of BBC film ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ and we asked him if there any dinosaurs alive to this day. Can you believe it – he told us that the answer is yes! Infact, birds are a type of dinosaur! Yes – you heard us – those creatures that fly all around us on a daily basis are actually living, breathing dinosaurs. Bet you didn’t know that! Scientists have tried to bring back an extinct wild goat and a woolly mammoth and they were alive for 10 days. So, we are thinking that hey, it could be possible to bring dinosaurs back!
