What is
Rookie Rockstars?
Rookie Rockstars is a fun week that lets all the pupils have a chance to work with professional musicians and singers, you even get to learn 5 awesome new songs and record a CD for all the people at home to hear. They also give the pupils an opportunity to show everything they have learned in a WEEK to their mums and dads at a special concert! We talked to a primary one girl about what she liked about Rookie Rockstars. She said “ I loved the dancing and the concert and my favourite song was 'Bullies Ain’t Big'!!”
The week helps pupils learn to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
Anti-Bullying
The founder/CEO of Rookie Rockstars, Dave Brackenridge, had a tough time at school after being bullied several times. He wanted to write songs for children for them to know they are all special and should never give up if they are being bullied. The fantastic, bouncy bopper, super songs that Dave has written have helped to teach children in many schools that bulling is not acceptable! The Rookie Rockstars team have twenty staff members and we have loved having Nick and Anie working with Lanark Primary School.
