SDC Management Training
ASAP, being a Mission Mode Project funded by the Government of Kerala with the support of ADB, gives top priority to resource management. Skill Development Centers across the state are where all the action takes place in the programme and hence much importance is given to SDC management training. Training is offered to the new Programme Managers, in charge of the skill development centers for familiarizing them with office procedures, inventory management and smooth conduct of training programmes.
Objectives
• The training is to equip the Programme Managers with skills that are essential for the smooth management of Skill Development Centres.
• Grooming the Programme Managers for effective liaisoning with the stake holders as the Programme Manager deals with various stake holders of ASAP.
The first SDC Management training for the year was held from from 23-28 March 2015 at the Institute of Management in Government, Thiruvananthapuram in which 124 Programme Managers were trained in three batches each of 3 days’ duration. Dr. Reju M. T IAS, Chief Executive Officer ASAP, Shri. George Thomas K, Additional Secretary & Team Leader ASAP, Shri. Anil Prasad, Head- Life Long Learning, Shri. Anil Kumar T V, Head- Training, Shri. Vivekanandan Nair M K, Head- Communication, Smt. Saleena K Head- Research and Documentation, Shri. Deepu R K, Head- Finance, Shri. Madhusudhanan C, Head- Quality Control, Dr. Prakasham R, Consultant- Quality, engaged sessions on various aspects of SDC management through their presentations. In addition to this, there were sessions by Shri. Swapnil More, IIT Mumbai via Skype on the Spoken tutorial project and Ms. Meera( Ospyn Technologies) on CASH software. The second SDC Management training was conducted at the Centre for Water Education, Thiruvananthapuram from 10- 13 June for 35 newly joined Programme Managers. There were training sessions by Shri. George Thomas K, Additional Secretary and Team Leader, ASAP, Shri. Anil Prasad, Head- Life Long Learning, Sri. Madhusudhanan C, Head- Quality Control & Dr. Prakasam R., Consultant- Quality, Smt. Saleena K, Head- Research and Documentation, Dr. Jaikiran K P, Head- Curriculum, Sri. Vivekanandan Nair M K, Head- Communication, Shri. Anil Kumar T V, Head- Training, Shri. P Chandramohanan Nair, Finance Officer, Smt. Resmi K J, SPM – Training and Dr. Siju K Eapen, SPM- Administration. In the valedictory function Shri. Muhamed Riyas, Head, Strategy addressed the Programme Managers.
