TRAINING PARTNER SCHEME( TPS) 2015
ASAP Skill Development Executives are recruited from the open market as well as through a 21- day training programme held in partnership with Government and Aided Arts & Science Colleges. Final year graduate and post graduate students with good communication skills who successfully complete the training and the subsequent selection process later are empanelled as Skill Development Executives( SDE). The goal of TPS is to encourage Departments of English functioning in various colleges to develop a prospective SDE pool. Training Partner Institution provides a 21- day residential training to the student trainees who had successfully cleared five stages of selection process. A training batch comprises about 30 students. The TPS initiative was started in the year 2013 with a campus recruitment process entitled‘ Thousand Splendid Stars’ which has been continuing thereafter. In the ever since 2014, 1269 students were trained in 40 batches. These students appeared in the ASAP campus recruitment drive from 25 February- 25 March 2015. This campus recruitment drive was conducted with the help of NSS units. The process flow that was followed in the 21- day training on TPS model during 2015 is shown here:
Campus Recruitment
• Conducted by a team of Programme Managers, SDEs with the support of NSS Programme Officer.
• Different stages: Pre-Campaign, Campaign, Registration, Group Discussion and Interview.
Selection of Training Partner Institutions( TPIs)
Training of Trainers
• Registrations invited from 193 Arts & Science colleges
• TPIs are selected after field level audit of facilities
• English faculty members from the TPIs given residential training as master trainers
• 2- day refresher training for senior master trainers and 4- day training to new trainers
Conduct of Training
• Each student batch is trained by 2 master trainers in English and an IT trainer in TPIs
• TPIs are ranked after monitoring the training quality
Evaluation of trainees are conducted by the British Council through APTIS Test. ASAP has also introduced a certificate of accomplishment for Master Trainers and Star rating of TPIs based on performance.
The Training Partner Scheme is successful in creating a pool of trainers capable of delivering activity oriented foundation module training to ASAP students. TPS training helps Skill development executives to improve confidence, communication and IT Skills besides developing their overall personality.
