ASSESSMENT
Assessment plays a vital role in determining whether an individual posses skills required to perform a particular job. It also ensures that the training programme under scrutiny has delivered education as per standards followed.
Assessment method and evaluation process of courses
ASAP conducts APTIS Test for the students enrolled under ASAP project after the completion of the Foundation module( 100hrs communicative English and 80hrs of IT module). APTIS Test assesses students on 5 components including( a) Listening( b) Reading( c) Speaking( d) Writing( e) Grammar & Vocabularyusing Common European Framework of Reference for Languages( CEFR) benchmarks. Students are assessed on CEFR rating and a joint certificate is issued by the Chief Executive Officer of ASAP and Director South India British Council.
A thorough analysis of APTIS Test result of students for the year 2013-14 evoke mixed response. The general view is that the students have showcased a decent performance in the APTIS Test. The core team of ASAP and DPMs have analyzed the APTIS Test results of the last year. The analysis helped in identifying the ease of attempting the test and initiatives were taken by ASAP to improve the performance of students in the test. British Council team supported conducting a training for two senior experienced SDEs from each district for supporting students to appear for APTIS Test.

In September 2015, a Technical Team from the British Council consisting Shri Tim Burnett, Shri Tom Gomersall, Shri Ben Bardy and Shri Dhanasekharan visited ASAP centers and reviewed assessment delivery and setup.
Skill Course Assessment
Final assessment of skill courses are conducted by Assessment Agencies assigned by the Sector Skill Councils. In 2014- 15 final assessment was conducted for 421 batches under regular skill batch and 330 batches in Summer Skill Skool by different Sector Skill Councils. New initiatives in assessment
• For proper conduct of assessment, the Assessment division has devised MIS based final assessment scheduling and attendance marking.
• Guidelines and Standard Operation Manual for assessment agencies were prepared with the support of the Price Water Coopers Ltd.
