Internship & Internship Monitoring
TSPs were requested to share the detailed plan of the Internship, for each batch, to the sector Head and PM and PM in charge of SDC in the format given, well in advance. Internship venues identified by TSPs were audited and approved by Programme Managers. Continuous monitoring was done through Programme Managers inorder to ensure quality of training provided.
Assessment & Placement
Under the scheme, TSP arranged a third party assessment and also facilities for conduct of final assessment. Linking placement proved to be a novel experiment under the Summer Skill Skool Programme 2015. Payment to the TSPs were linked with placement, thereby putting the responsibility on TSPs to ensure quality training and creating job ready students. The scheme envisages TSPs to place 100 percentage of eligible and willing students.
Design Align Train( DAT) Scheme
The DAT scheme encouraged Engineering colleges and Polytechnic Colleges to take up Skill Development Programmes, thereby becoming a bridge between the skill ecosystem and mainstream technical education.
Modus Operandi:
Institutions identify suitable job verticals in the areas of their strength and design detailed curriculum through active industry consultation. ASAP organizes workshops with concerned SSC, and help them align their proposed programmes with NOSs. The Faculty of the programme undergoes Training of Trainers programme conducted by the SSCs.
ASAP invited institutions including Govt / Aided / Non aided institutions in the DAT scheme. 63 institutions applied online offering 197 programs. ASAP conducted Panel Presentation / Discussion of courses from 19th Oct – 31st Oct in which 50 institutions presented and discussed about the courses, their infrastructure and also the job opportunities.
A workshop titled Design- 2015 was organized with the support of Sector Skill Councils and NSDC to enlighten the institutions registered under DAT Scheme about Qualification Packs, National Occupation Standards and structure of NSDC / NSQF. Dr Reju M T, CEO ASAP gave introductory speech followed by the presentations of Shri Prakasam, Consultant, Quality Division, ASAP, Shri Anand Kumar, Shri M K Vivekanandan, Head- Communication, ASAP, Shri Anil Prasad P, Head- Life Long Learning, ASAP, Smt Suseela James, Head- Technical, ASAP. 26 institutions offering 47 programs were finalized under the scheme.
