ASAP in collaboration with the Agriculture Sector Skill Council of India( ASCI) organized a workshop-“ Jagriti- the ticket to employability” on 21st January 2015 where all the stakeholders in the sector gathered to brainstorm. This workshop addressed the pressing need of skill training in the agricultural arena, developing innovative course components that inspire critical thinking in students, equipping students with relevant skills sets as per industry demands and also to build an industry advisory committee. The programme was designed and coordinated with clear cut objectives and a specific strategy to get the required results in a way that is different from the conventional ideas.
The event viewed participation of eminent personalities from the different fields of agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy farming, poultry and fisheries etc. Sessions included presentations by Dr. T. P. Sethumadhavan. Director of Entrepreneurship, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Shri. Santhosh Baby, Managing Partner, Aqua Line Exports and Shri. Girish Kumar, Executive Director, Prowins Agri System. The event also witnessed a detailed and enthusiastic group discussion among groups of experts who debated and discussed on particular sectors and came up with job roles and skill courses that can be offered.
