visits that give a firsthand experience to operate and understand the machineries / practices that they had gone through in the theory classes. It also gives them a clear idea of the administration of an organization and levels / split ups of job roles that enable smooth functioning of that particular firm. Agenda of these industry visits are not confined to the familiarization of industry work flow, but motivating students in entrepreneurship and self-employment. Such visits often result in positive outcomes such as entrepreneurship ideas in students.
Internships are provided to students who successfully complete theory and practical sessions. Reputed firms are identified by each sector and students are deployed once safe and quality training ambience is ensured. A real time experience with the industry is the final level of equipping ASAP students ready for industry entry. ASAP students have shown a high level of professionalism at their internship centers and many of them got readily absorbed by the firm on successful completion of the course. This is where the vision of creating employable youth have shown its result. Efforts for placing students were also seen from several sectors and satisfactory performances were shown by skilled students.
Assessments are carried out through reputed agencies which assess the quality of skill training and student performance. ASAP measures success of the mission through the skilled populace that it generates. Skilling is not limited to acquiring knowledge base in a particular sector, but also molding a student‘ skilled’ in the industry perspective. This industry perspective is closely identified by each sector and process required to deliver the same is initiated and implemented.
Towards ensuring quality delivery of the skill courses, each sector takes adequate measures including regular meetings with sector skill councils and Training Service Providers, Business Advisory Committee meetings, Training of Trainers, Workshops for Course-ware up gradation, trainer and assessor orientations, internship mappings / monitoring and collection of student and trainer feedback. Sector report being presented here describes these efforts and deliberations in each sector and the outcome achieved.
