For TV Courses, minimum educational qualification to apply for all courses except Sound Recording
& Television Engineering and Sound for Electronic & Digital Media is a Bachelor's Degree in any disci-
pline while for Sound Recording & Television Engineering and Sound for Electronic & Digital Media,
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Physics as a subject at senior secondary (10+2) level is need-
ed.
Selection to these Programmes are based on a Joint Entrance Test which will be a written test of
three hours duration, with objective type and subjective type questions, to test the General as well
as area specific aptitude of the applicant. For the Film related courses, MCQs will be from General
Awareness (National / International), General Mental Ability (Mathematical / Abstract Reasoning),
Indian History, Culture, Art, Architecture, Music, Folk-art, Cinema, Television etc. In addition, Specific
Area Aptitude Test (Descriptive) will also be there to test the ability and aptitude of a candidate in
the specific field of cinema.
For Television Courses, MCQs will be from General Awareness (National/International), General
Mental Ability (Mathematical / Abstract Reasoning), Indian and International Television, Mass Me-
dia, Indian History, Culture, Music, Folk-art etc. The Specific Area Aptitude Test (Descriptive) will
have questions to test the ability and aptitude of a candidate in the chosen audio-visual field.
Based on the JET score, the Institutes will call candidates for the next stage of the selection process.
Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD categories.
JET 2018 will be held on 18 th February, 2018 (Sunday), in two sessions (forenoon & afternoon), at
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Deh-
radun, Guwahati, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New
Delhi, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram. Application has to
be submitted at https://applyadmission.net/jet2018/ latest by 5 pm on 25.1.2018. One can apply only
for one Film related course and only one TV related course. Those in the final year of Bachelor's de-
gree can also apply provisionally.
