Socio Economic Development through Micro Enterprises - KUDUMBASREE

P romotion and development of Micro Enterprises is one of the significant strategies of Kudumbashree Mission to facilitate economic empowerment of the poor in Kerala . On analyzing the requirements of the Micro Enterprises , Kudumbashree Mission developed specific strategies to cater to their basic needs . This constitutes training , partial financial support , marketing support , and hand holding support to the enterprises . These are extended to existing micro enterprises and new ones as well .

Through RME and Yuvashree in rural areas and through NULM in urban areas , interest subsidy is given for starting self-employment ventures . Technology fund , revolving fund , innovation fund for starting innovative ventures , technology upgaradation fund , second dose assistance fund , crisis management fund etc . are the financial assistance offered by Kudumbashree Mission to the women for self-employment .
Trainings like entrepreneurship development training , skill training , performance improvement training etc . are given to the women for improving the quality of their work . The service of Micro Enterprise Consultants is being extended to the micro entrepreneurs . Associating with International Labour Organisation , a training was given to the MECs by the master trainers of the ILO on the topic ' Start and Improve Your Business ' ( SIYB ) in December 2017 . Start and Improve Your Business ( SIYB ) is currently the largest global business management training programme , with the focus on starting and improving businesses as a strategy for creating more and better employment for women and men . It supports the sustainable development goals by promoting the business development policies that aid decent job creation , entrepreneurship and encourage the growth of micro , small and medium enterprises . It also ensures productive employment and decent work for all , including the youth and persons with disabilities .
