It should help you to understand how open-minded and tolerant the person is. You should:  Briefly introduce yourself and the organisation  Introduce the project, its idea, objectives and goals  Hear out the candidate, their personal story, motivation, expectations and willingness to contribute;  Answer the candidate’s questions  Ask about candidate’s fears  Ask some specific questions:  What do you know about the hosting country (culture, traditions)  „What would you do if...” questions: 1) If you make a mistake? 2) If you lose some of the organisation’s equipment? 3) If you need to finish some work within limited time? 4) if you need to share a flat/apartment with other volunteers? The aim of asking such kinds of questions is to see how responsible and open minded the volunteer is.  Ask about any intercultural experience You should depend on the situation and be flexible during the interview. During the interview, it is important to be friendly, objective, don’t give promises regarding the results and do not judge the volunteer’s opinions. 9
