COMPOSING FACEBOOK POSTS
When creating content for Facebook, use this resource to maximize post effectiveness. Your post MUST contain these five elements to increase your chance at engagement.
1. Does your post have F. I. R. E.? Give it the“ F. I. R. E.” test:
FUNNY INTRIGUING RELEVANT EMOTIONAL
Your post is not on FIRE if it does not contain, at least, ONE of these ingredients. The F. I. R. E. factor will be different for everyone. If I live in Atlanta and post about the Baltimore Ravens winning the Super Bowl, it would have a minimal chance of survival. If I live in Baltimore, it’ s a home run.
2. Does it have RICH MEDIA?
Photos and then videos are the best rich media sources to attach with your post. Most social networks pull an image from the link you are posting and automatically post it much smaller than an“ image” post would be. You will have better odds at engagement if you manually create an image for your post. You want to find an image, at least, as large as 403 pixels wide by 403 pixels high and upload it as your“ image” then add your engagement question followed by a link( if there is one) you want to share.
Power tip: When posting a“ link” to an article as an engagement opportunity, create the post as an IMAGE first then add the link last( so you don’ t get an autofilled image by the network you are using).
3. Is the post too long?
The longer the post is, the less of a chance it has to win in social media marketing. The posts that get the highest level of engagement on Facebook, in study after study, is 80 characters or less. Draft your post, and then edit it several times until
