With his Better Your Best win, Lopez has joined an elite group of incredibly successful MSPs. Here’ s an inside look at where they are now and the mindset shifts that brought them this far.

Since his win, Zaki has doubled the numbers he earned in his winning year, closing $ 64,000 in new MRR in the last year.“ There was a lot of pressure to keep up the momentum and keep up with the formula that worked,” Zaki says.
Consistency and responsibility were key for Zaki’ s success and continued growth, he says.“ Prior to my best year, we had one person [ doing all the marketing tasks ], including list cleaning. They were burning out and we were losing an admin every couple of months.” Now, Mazteck IT still has a full-time marketing admin on staff, but he also outsources the list cleaning to two part-time workers.“ Everything clicked and made things a lot smoother. We really elevated to that next level when we split the responsibility, to make sure people are held accountable for the work they’ re supposed to do.”
Adam Spencer, CEO, 911 IT

Despite some growing pains due to scaling so rapidly, 911 IT is on track to double their best year’ s numbers this year, having already hit $ 3.6 million in gross revenue.“ I can’ t even count the number of times my mindset has had to grow and change,” says Spencer.“ The one thing that’ s been constant is you have to be open to whatever.”
If you’ re close-minded, you’ re never going to make changes and experiment with things that have the opportunity to take you to the next level, Spencer says. When you see other MSPs having success with a particular strategy,“ go try it,” he says, echoing this year’ s winner, Julio Lopez.“ Go follow exactly what they did and see if that works. As you open up that mindset, you’ ll grow as an individual, become better, and help more people.”
David Javaheri, CEO and President, Direct iT, Inc.

When Javaheri joined TMT, his MSP was bringing in $ 2 million in gross revenue. Today, he is on track to finish the year at over $ 11 million.“ I actually think [ changing your mindset ] gets easier as you grow,” Javaheri says.
“ The biggest change in my case was to reset my goals and my expectations for myself. I can do better. I didn’ t come here to just do $ 3 million; I came here to do $ 6 million. I came here to do $ 10 million. Work hard, and keep good people around you who will come up with different ways to get to those numbers. Keep changing your mindset to higher expectations for yourself.”
