SaaS Alerts — What It Means For MSP Partners

Fred Voccola is looking to the future . Kaseya ’ s acquisition of SaaS Alerts , and the inclusion of its cloud detection and response ( CDR ) solution in Kaseya 365 User , gives MSPs another layer of protection that will become increasingly important . “ We believe CDR will be as ubiquitous as EDR in the next several years ,” says the Kaseya CEO .

SaaS Alerts founder Jim Lippie , who pioneered CDR , agrees . “ Fred was thinking ahead and felt that this was going to be the perfect complement to the other components in Kaseya 365 User , and [ he ] felt like it would be an absolute home run for the MSP community . I agree . I think that the combination of what we do provides an unbelievable advantage for MSPs that choose to leverage the Kaseya 365 User bundle .”
Unpacking CDR
The bad actors are continuously innovating at an incredibly fast rate . The proliferation of SaaS applications has made the problem even more critical . CDR provides an additional way to protect users from being compromised .
“ CDR is looking at a very important and overlooked aspect of cloud security : how the inappropriate usage and accessibility of SaaS applications — whether it ’ s Microsoft 365 or Salesforce or other third-party SaaS applications — can lead to obtaining the information or the control that the nefarious actor wants , without the user even being aware of it ,” Voccola says .
