Holiday Hangover:

Clean Up Edition

A NEW YEAR is here, and if you are anything like me, a quick inventory of the damage done by my excesses over the last few months causes a bit of remorse! The holiday spirit seems to have made my clothes a little tighter and my wallet a bit lighter. Unfortunately, there is not a magic wand to instantly remove impulsive decisions, and ignoring the damage done will only make it worse.

If you are afraid to look at your credit card and bank statements, it’s time to do a little holiday clean up!

It seems like January spurs a frantic job search. Some job seekers are going after a dream or working on their New Year’s resolution. A good portion of job seekers are trying to clean up the financial mess of the holiday. It doesn’t matter whether you are a financial wizard or new to managing money; NOW is a good time to review your balance sheet and set realistic goals. A quick inventory of what you have coming in, going out, and debt owed can help you establish a realistic plan to find a job that will bring in the income you need.
