Visitors who’ ve never been to the Expo may feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer size of the show, which is spread across 93 acres. More than 850 exhibitors display and demonstrate products that include both ag-related and non-ag-related items. There are also field demonstrations out on the 530-acre, working research farm, which is adjacent to the show grounds.
It’ s out in the field where I usually find some of the agriculture industry’ s latest innovations. That’ s where you’ ll find demonstrations of the new technology. To me, it’ s always fascinating to see the technology in action and how farming has evolved with the Digital Age. It’ s definitely not your great-grandpa’ s farming anymore! Don’ t worry, if you don’ t want to walk all the way out to the field, you can catch one of the tractor-pulled trams that are on a constant rotation back and forth from the research field. You don’ t want to miss what may be out there and you don’ t have to be a farmer or even in the agriculture industry to be wowed by the technology.
The daily Antique Tractor and Lawnmower Pull is a crowd favorite at the Sunbelt Ag Expo. A wide variety of tractors and lawnmowers in different shapes, sizes, and weight classes, all try to pull a sled the farthest. Photo courtesy of Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition
