Thanksgiving Parade in 1979( not bad for a fully rebuilt program), the Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade 2014 and 2019; and The Fiesta Flambeau Parade in San Antonio, Texas in 2018.
“ I am committed to guiding the 50th Regiment toward continued excellence in every facet of our program,” Thompson said.“ My vision includes expanding performance opportunities both nationally and internationally, showcasing the talent and dedication of our students on a broader stage. We will uphold high standards, not only in the classroom and on the field, but also in the way we conduct ourselves within the community.”
“ These students deserve nothing less than my absolute best, as do the alumni and supporters who have shaped this program’ s legacy,” he said.“ I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead the 50th Regiment and will strive each day to honor God and all those connected to this incredible organization.”
Another aspect of the band is the band parents. They play a major role in the day-to-day activities of the band. Being a band parent can be a lot of work. Parents organize and plan meals for band camp, wash coolers and uniforms, chaperone everything from camp to football games to fun trips. There is always a place for a parent to fill in. The hardest, least desired job is concession stand workers. The Band Boosters own and operate the Hawg Rock Café concession stand by the main gate at the stadium. It takes at least 15 people working non-stop during home games to keep it running. This is the band’ s biggest fundraiser. Money generated at the football
