Royalton’ s Platte River Day, something for everyone

The City of Royalton is gearing up for one of its most anticipated community events of the year, Platte River Day, set to take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Sponsored by the Royalton Lions Club, the day-long festival promises a full slate of activities for residents and visitors alike, running from 8:30 a. m. through midnight.
The festivities begin early with the annual Platte River 5K Run / Walk at 8:30 a. m., drawing participants from across the region. Later in the morning, crowds are expected to gather along the streets for the popular Platte River Day Parade, which steps off at 11 a. m. from Royalton High School and winds its way through town, concluding at Holy Trinity Church.
Also opening at 11 a. m. are the food court and beer garden, offering a wide selection of classic fair favorites including cheeseburgers, brats, hot dogs, French fries, mini donuts, ice cream, popcorn, lemonade, and more.
At 12:30 p. m., attendees can head to the main stage for a live auction featuring a variety of unique items

Family-friendly activities continue throughout the afternoon. The Royalton School Fishing Club will host its popular Minnow Races at 1:15 p. m., where winners can take home prizes. At 3 p. m., the Royalton FFA Alumni will sponsor the always-entertaining kids tractor pull, open to children ages 4 through 8.
Additional activities include Cub Scout and Boy Scout kids’ games, the Royalton FFA petting zoo, and a crowd-favorite egg toss. From 4 to 7 p. m., the Royalton American Legion will host the Platte River Day Car, Bike, and Tractor Show. Registration opens at 2 p. m., with a variety of trophy categories and a modest $ 10 entry fee. Spectators can enjoy the show free of charge. Handmade trophies will be awarded at 6:30 p. m., with proceeds supporting Rogerup. org.
Evening festivities ramp up with Happy Hour starting at 5 p. m., featuring dinner and drink specials. A cash-only raffle drawing at 5:30 p. m. will award one lucky winner a $ 5,000 prize.
Live music begins at 5 p. m. with Canoise, a band that has been entertaining audiences since the mid- 1960s with hits spanning the 1950s through the 1980s. The celebration continues into the night with a street dance kicking off at 8 p. m., featuring free live music from Janelle Kendall’ s Perfect Storm, returning after a well-received performance last year with a mix of 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s rock favorites.
Platte River Day offers something for all ages and interests, making it a highlight of the summer calendar in Royalton.
