If you’re too caught up in other
people’s expectations, it’s going
to be difficult to cut the cord and
start listening to your own inner
dialogue. However, all is not lost.
Yes, it’s hard to step away from the
ledge and let go of the fear.
We’re often told that taking risks is
something for young people. They
have time. They have strength and
vitality. They can enjoy the fruits
of their successes and rebound
quickly from their failures.
More importantly, they have a
fearlessness about life. That’s
what’s been missing… admit it - the
ability to be fearless!
No one’s talking about going and
jumping off a building or throwing
away your money in a get rich
quick scheme. Instead, I’m just

step outside one’s comfort zone.
Fearlessness is not to be confused
with carelessness. You can be
unsteady on your feet but yet be
fearless. Even some of the most
confident people on the planet get
jitters!
Fearlessness is a leap of faith –
such as jumping off a bridge…while
taking care to wear a protective
harness. It committing to taking
the leap, yet taking precautions.
It’s believing in the unbelievable,
and planning for bring the
unbelievable to life. It’s about
using your intuition to see what’s
often not seen and opening
the eyes of others to the many
probabilities.
If you aren’t willing to believe in
what you can’t see, how are you
ever going to be able to take risks…
giant leaps of faith?
When you decide you’re going to
live authentically, your passions
rise to the surface like cream in a
coffee cup. It’s about surrendering
to free will.
It’s about doing whatever’s
necessary (within limits) to
accomplish your dream. More
importantly, it’s about knowing that
you cannot fail. This inner knowing
is what makes Fearlessness such a
powerful sense of being.
Because of fearlessness, you are
able to embrace your passions
and their associated risks because
you can look beyond what the eye
can see and envision what isn’t
obvious.
You’ve got to be willing to take the
broad leap of faith because you
believe. Breathe it in. Let it tumble
around in your mind a bit and then
own it.
