What truly sets the School of Business apart is the integration of innovation across the entire learning journey. From assessments informed by real industry scenarios to immersive VR decisionmaking simulations, the program ensures students are both grounded in business fundamentals and ready for the demands of a dynamic workplace.
Designing Learning for Engagement That innovation is also reflected in how technology shapes student experiences, according to Dr Sheena Suresh Philips.
“ AI, VR, simulations and gamification make learning more personalised, immersive and engaging.”
DR SHEENA SARA PHILIP Deputy Director of Undergraduate Studies( Course)
AI provides instant feedback, VR creates realistic learning environments, and gamified elements— like leaderboards and interactive challenges— keep students motivated. Together, these tools drive deeper understanding and active participation.
One exciting example is the use of augmented reality( AR) in branding education. In the Strategic Branding unit taught by Dr Omkar Dastane, students tackle real-world marketing challenges by developing AR-based brand experiences. Projects include Instagram filters for luxury brands like

Gucci and Prada, QR-coded packaging revealing brand stories, and environmental awareness campaigns enhanced with AR posters.
A standout student project, an AR Instagram filter promoting The Mad Alchemy coffee brand, gained over 9,300 accesses within just four days— with nearly 70 % of users coming from Generation Z and millennial audiences.
Feedback from companies like Grab, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Kiehl’ s has further validated the students’ creative achievements, highlighting how innovation and industry engagement are seamlessly integrated into the curriculum.
Yet adopting new teaching approaches is not without its challenges. Faculty may face time constraints, unfamiliarity with tools, or limited resources. To address this, the School of Business supports educators with pilot projects funded by the Learning Innovation Fund( LIF), expert-led workshops, and peer mentoring.
“ We provide a safe space for experimentation,” Sheena explains.“ Our educators are empowered, not overwhelmed.”
