STUDENT EXPERIENCE
Launching entrepreneurs > At the Monash Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub, students gain real-world experience by tackling startup ideas and innovation challenges. The Monash Startup Bootcamp 2024 brought together 96 participants aged 18 to 30 from over nine institutions, including Monash students, peers from other universities, and young professionals. Guided by expert mentors, industry leaders, and facilitators, participants worked on real-world problems while sharpening their entrepreneurial mindset and skills.

At the Monash Startup Bootcamp 2024, two standout teams earned RM5,000 each to bring their ideas to life. Team Mossify, led by Isaac Thong, developed a moss-based filtration system that cuts up to 80 % of VOC emissions from 3D printing— showcasing the power of cross-disciplinary collaboration. Meanwhile, Team Bagelly, founded by Liona Teoh, turned a student’ s lunchbox idea into a wellness-driven startup offering fusion-flavoured bagels with custom options and clear nutrition info. Both teams impressed mentors with their vision, innovation, and potential for real-world impact.
Led by final-year student Ong Yun Yi, the team HYVET A1910 were crowned National Champion( Malaysia) and Regional 1st Runner-Up at the ASEAN Data Science Explorers 2024 with HarvestOptima Suite— a solution featuring a Sustainable Farming Academy, AI Advisory Bot, and Community Toolkit. Backed by field research and Monash mentorship, their project showed how data science can drive real-world impact.

A standout moment of the year, the Monash Business Student Excellence Awards 2024 honoured outstanding achievements across accounting, finance, international business, and more.
In partnership with leading professional bodies including ACCA, CPA Australia, MICPA – CA ANZ, BDO Malaysia, CIMA, and CFA Society Malaysia, the event featured 52 awards, recognising top-performing students and Best Graduate Award recipients at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The ceremony highlighted the School’ s industry ties and ongoing commitment to nurturing future-ready business professionals.
