The School of Business proudly unveiled the Monash Business Alumni Wall of Fame, celebrating 12 distinguished alumni who were recognised not only for their professional excellence but also for their leadership and community impact in Malaysia. The unveiling ceremony brought together esteemed alumni, industry partners, staff, and students in a celebration of achievement, and inspiration for the next generation of Monash Business leaders.
Among the distinguished alumni featured on the Wall of Fame are; Datuk Muhammad Umar Swift( CEO of Bursa Malaysia), Ng Wei Wei( CEO of UOB Malaysia), Leonard Ariff( Group MD of Duopharma), Dr Charles Fang( Group CEO of GoodMorning Global Group Holdings), Tan Guan Sheng( Founder and CEO of ITTIFY), Dr Eunice Yeo( Senior Director at the Public Private Partnership Unit, Prime Minister’ s Department) and Dr Sumitra Nair,( Senior Director and Head of Group Sustainability at Telekom Malaysia).
As part of a multidisciplinary research initiative on marginalised communities, the Greying with Grace team, led by Associate Professor Juliana French and Dr Sharon Koh, offers a vital platform to address the complex challenges of elderly care in Malaysia.
In November 2024, the team convened policymakers, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to explore innovative reforms and practical solutions tailored to the diverse needs of an ageing population.
The roundtable proposed establishing affordable and culturally sensitive community care hubs, empowering grassroots initiatives, and fostering public-private partnerships. Participants also advocated for stronger policies, including caregiver incentives, legislative protection against elderly abandonment, and a shift towards recognising elderly care as a societal investment rather than a welfare obligation.
The Alumni Wall of Fame serves as a source of inspiration for all who pass through its halls.
