Make Graduation
Day Memorable
This is the season for graduation commencements! Planning
ahead will make the day extra special for your 2017 graduate
and so much easier for yourself. And if you’re the one
graduating, treat yourself! This will give you some tips to
make your graduate have an unforgettable graduation day!
Capture the Memories
Graduation whether from college, high school or even
a PHD program is a wonderful time to get professional
photos taken. Take pictures in both your cap and gown,
regular clothes, and to make the most of it, make sure to get
professional headshots for your future online professional
profiles and business connections. Take the pictures in
places that have special meaning to you or represent your
future.
Get Creative
Decorate your grads cap so family and friends can spot
them more easily in the sea of cap and gowns. (Make sure
the school allows this first.) Come up with a unique chant
for your graduate as they walk across the stage. Get to
the ceremony location early so you have the best seats for
pictures. If you can, let your student know where you are so
you don’t lose your voice trying to get their attention!

A nice watch, pen, new smartphone, flowers, or
professional wardrobe items. If you will host a party,
consider having guests sign the mat of a "guest
book" frame for the diploma. This is a memento
that can hang in your home and be enjoyed for
a lifetime. Reading the messages and seeing
the names will bring back all that was special on
graduation day.
Host a Celebratory Party
Complete the happy day with great food, a
custom cake, colored decorations and speeches.
To save yourself a lot of time shopping and being
tied up in the kitchen, consider booking a table
or a private dining room at a restaurant. If you go
this route make sure you have a good idea of how
many guests you will have. Call a few weeks in
advance to ensure the best time at your favorite
restaurant. Many places will be able to assist you
with the cake, flowers and decorations as well.
Graduation is such an exciting achievement that
comes after years of hard work and late nights.
