TIME FOR SERIOUS TRAINING So with entries taken care of, the focus for the next few months will be on training and qualifying. Check out the official Comrades Training and Information Guide published by Modern Athlete and available with this issue of the magazine, as it contains training programmes designed by the official Comrades Coach, Lindsey Parry, for Silver (sub-7:30), Bill Rowan (sub-9:00), Bronze (sub-11:00) and Vic Clapham (sub-12:00) medal finishes. Now lace up those shoes and hit the road, so that you can be part of it on 31 May! OLD MUTUAL COMRADES WOMEN SEMINARS The CMA will be presenting the Old Mutual Comrades Women Seminars across the country’s five major cities between January and March. These seminars are aimed at providing technical as well as professional support to women running the Comrades Marathon in 2015. CATCH THE COMRADES ROADSHOW For over a decade, the CMA has been organising the popular Comrades Marathon Roadshow with a series of workshops across the country, and to prepare runners for the 90th Comrades Marathon, the CMA will once again hold workshops in all nine provinces across South Africa. The Comrades Marathon Coach as well as other experts in the field of running and motivation will be on hand to share invaluable information with the runners, and many runners have credited the Comrades Marathon Roadshow Programme for making it to the start line as well as for getting over the finish line. The Roadshow programme kicks off on 20 January and the full list of Roadshow dates and venues appears in the official Comrades Training and Information Guide published by Modern Athlete and available with this issue of the magazine, or visit www.comrades.com for more info. The session begins with a scrumptious breakfast, followed by presentations from an expert panel of professionals, including a medical doctor, nutritionist, sports psychologist and the Comrades Coach. The sessions are interactive, with experts giving short presentations on selected topics, and then the ladies are given an opportunity to direct questions to the panel. The first Women’s Seminar is on 31 January in Cape Town and the full list of dates and venues appears in the official Comrades Training and Information Guide published by Modern Athlete and available with this issue of the magazine, or visit www.comrades.com for more info. Tickets cost R75 per person (breakfast included), and there are 100 tickets per seminar. Bookings can be done online at: https://secure.onreg.com/ onreg2/front/step1.php?id=2593. 33
