Entries for the 90th anniversary Comrades Marathon closed on Sunday
30 November 2014, with more than 22,000 entries received, including
over 1800 international runners, which in turn included more than 400
from the rest of Africa. This figure means the 2015 race will be one of the
biggest ever in Comrades history, and special plans are being put in place
to make it one to remember. Clearly the Comrades Marathon Association’s
‘Bamba Iqhaza – Be Part of It’ campaign has hit the right note with the

he 2015 Comrades will start at the

Durban City Hall at 5:30am and

finish twelve hours later at the

Oval Cricket Stadium in

Pietermaritzburg, with each finisher
earning an extra-special 90th commemorative
medal. Every entrant had the option of
purchasing a special 90th Comrades Marathon
watch, and if you have ordered one, you may
collect it at your registration venue of choice:
Pietermaritzburg or Durban (28 to 30 May 2015).

SUBMIT YOUR QUALIFYING INFO
Runners who have entered are asked to please
start submitting their qualifying details to
the CMA office. Keep in mind that the 2014
Comrades Marathon will not be an automatic
qualifier for this year’s race, which means that
an officially recognised qualifying race of 42.2km
needs to be run in under five hours between
1 August 2014 and 3 May 2015. The deadline for

SHARE YOUR STORY AND WIN
Most runners who are part of the Ultimate Human Race will have a story to tell, be it about
something wonderful that happened during the race, or a friendship
made or life lesson learnt while training for the Comrades. The CMA
wants to hear these stories, so send your Comrades Marathon story
to [e-mail].
Stories should be no more than 200 words long, and over the next
six months, one lucky runner with the best story of the month will
win an amazing Arnica Ice hamper containing:
