People add on hyperboles to make stories interesting and gain others interests. However, the fact has to be kept in mind that exaggerated stories and the truth are totally different- not even versions of one another but a distorted figure of reality. It is best to tell the truth then disappoint someone when a person finds out it wasn't the real deal. That person can be anyone and then the targets turns. The original person that started spreading the rumors usually becomes the victim for telling lies and everyone shuns that person.
