teaching more effective in engaging students in their learning with the intent
of providing greater clarity, addressing the different learning needs and
closing the gaps identified among the learners. At KidZania, they have tried
to replicate the experience at schools by providing similar resources to
expand on the experiences and learning of the pupils.
At KidZania, the content team designed the scripts to be used at the different
establishments based on the target age group. The Zupervisors will then
adapt the scripts based on their ‘clients’ needs during the session. Their
sponsors provide attractive make-alive props such as atm cards to be used
in the city, driver’s licence for one of the establishments, Kidzos, a special
currency that is used and earned throughout the city and especially, the
uniforms of the different organisations such as SCDF, SPF and medical
officers etc.
KidZania is a replica of the real establishments in the real world to create a
real-life experience for the children to create a fun-learning environment
that mimics a real city that includes authentic learning experiences with the
inclusion of local brands with the intent of mind-branding from the sponsors
who invested fun in this edutainment industry. Establishments such as The
Learning Lab, The Mount Elizabeth Hospital and KISS 92 create an authentic
and fun learning experience for the participants.
2.2. 4 KidZania Engagement of Stakeholders
The similarity between schools and KidZania is that we have a very similar
composition of stakeholders who are the parents, children/students as well
as external organisation/industry partners.
Parents are known as partners to schools. Their feedback are sought after
for school review throughout the year. Parents are recruited to be part of the
parent support group where they are involved in organising school events
and accompanying the pupils for learning journey
