STARTING FRESH AND LOVINGIT
After 15 years of living in alarge older home with its own carriagehouseontwo acres, the ideaofnever again having to shovel snow or worry about gutters or landscaping was very appealing to Haya and Steve. Not that walking away from such a home was easy.“ The parties we had there were amazing,” says Haya, referring to their famous“ echo room”– a large room used for holiday dinners and parties throughout the year. The rest of the time, it sat empty waiting for the next event. Also difficult to leave behind was alovely, lush yard.
Yetwith her twin daughters, Ariel and Zoë, 21, off at collegeand sonElijah, 17, soontogo, the condominium presented an opportunity too good to pass up. With massive timbers and hand-wrought iron, the living room ceiling is itself a work of art.
