If there are mitigating circumstances for not meeting the standards of academic progress , the VA student can submit a written appeal to the Military & Veterans Services office requesting continuance of VA education benefits . The EFSC Military & Veterans Services will review the appeal and contact the VA student via their Titan email account to inform the student of the decision .
A VA student terminated from VA educational benefits due to unsatisfactory progress may apply for reinstatement of VA educational benefits after one term has elapsed and after attaining a minimum CGPA of 2.0 .
Additionally , veteran students enrolled in Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificate ( PSAV ) programs will be required to maintain a minimum level of proficiency / progress that will ensure successful completion of the program . Proficiency / progress will be monitored and will be based on attendance records , graded coursework test results , and instructors ’ assessments . VA students who are not making progress toward satisfactory completion of the vocational program will have their VA educational benefits terminated .
VA students must comply with the participation requirements established by each instructor .
Registration Priority Registration
Priority course registration for an upcoming semester is available to active-military students , student veterans , and military / veteran dependents who have made prior contact with the EFSC Military & Veterans Services by self-identifying ( as one of these students ) or by submitting an EFSC MVS Certification Request form .
Section 303 of Public Law 115-48 requires the federal Department of Veterans Affairs to publicly report if a school offers priority course registration ( or enrollment ) to veteran / military students . In addition , Florida law 1004.075 requires public universities to offer priority course registration to veteran / military / dependent students who are using G . I . Bill ® benefits , until these benefits expire . Eastern Florida State College exceeds this state law by offering priority course registration until the time they graduate to all veteran / military students – including those not using G . I . Bill ® benefits – and veteran / military dependents ( if dependents have used G . I . Bill ® benefits during part of their time at EFSC ).
You do not need to wait for your current term of classes to be completed to register for the next term .
