CSR Annual Scholarship Award for Host Communities and Delta State Indigenes We, on behalf of the Joint Venture including ourselves and our partner SunTrust Oil offer several Scholarship Awards to suitably qualified stu- dents from host communities and Delta State as a whole.  We have two categories of awards which include Secondary School and University Scholarship Awards.   The scholarship scheme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and creating opportunities for the youths to make good career choic- es, focus on developing their talents and earning a good living. The grants are meant to subsidize their tuition, assist towards the purchase of books, payment for accommodation and other sundry expenses. Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited trains community youths in various trades to make them useful to the society and themselves. This initiative leads to the creation of jobs and boosts the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises [SME] in the area. This programme includes but are not limited tothe following • • • • • • • • Fashion/Design/Tailoring Building Material Trade Welding and Fabrication Hair dressing Aquaculture [Fishery/Piggery] Vulcanizing Mechanic Interior/exterior Decoration Aluminium and steel structural Design In furtherance to our Corporate Social Responsibility to our Host Communities and Delta State, we embarked on Amenity Ward Rehabilitation Project. On behalf of the Joint Venture including ourselves and our partner SunTrust Oil, we furnished and commissioned a standard amenity ward at the Kwale General Hospital, Delta State to strengthen our commitment to improving the lives of the people. The Amenity Ward was constructed and fully equipped as part of our contribution to improving health care facilities and securing good health for the people of our host communities MedicalOutreach Relief came the way of residents of Kwale and its neighboring communities in Delta State when the Midwestern-SunTrust JV embarked on conducting annual Medical Outreach in their host communities and some Delta indigenes also benefited. Although the primary target population was the host communities Umusadege, Umusam and Ogbeani, residents of other communities also benefitted as Midwestern ensured that no one left the venue unattended to.
