CSR OUR LARGE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOOTPRINT Our Corporate Social Responsibility 24 “ Our impact has been felt across board leading to tangible progress and relief, it is our aim to continue to do more to ensure that the community is much better than we met it when we arrived. Midwestern’s initiatives are designed to contribute to the economic devel- opment of the host communities and improving their quality of life. A major challenge in the Niger Delta is inad- equate infrastructural development which should provide communities with the quality of living that every- one deserves. In response, Midwest- ern has successfully implemented projects in the host communities to alleviate the conditions. In line with globally recognized stan- dards, we have implemented CSR ini- tiatives in the following areas, educa- tion, health, electricity, infrastructural development, economic empower- ment and youth development. Proj- ects implemented include construc- tion of roads, boreholes, community buildings and classrooms. We have also provided furniture and rehabili- tated health centres. In addition, we have executed power related projects. In support of culture, we have imple- mented a Lake re-channelization proj- ect to revive an abandoned fishing festival.
