SOME FEATURES OF THE BURIAL RITUAL
IN THE ARMENIAN HIGHLANDS
Studying funeral as a ritual, presenting its development, we can say
that during the early Middle Ages some changes are observed in the ritual,
which are related to the ancient beliefs and Christianity. The funeral ritual
has maintained the ancient traditions and has reached our days through
generations. However, the difference between early and medieval icono-
graphy, the idea of death and the treatment of the deceased's body is obvious.
