TIGRAN KHACHATRYAN (ASPU) ACHIEVEMENTS OF GERMAN MILITARY MISSION'S OF 1882-1895 IN OTTOMAN TURKEY In the period of 1882-1895 the German military mission in Turkey played a pivotal role in the formation of the German-Turkish allied relations. During this period, the Turkish army was reformed by German experts, with the help of the German officers and diplomats the Turkish army was armed with German weapons. Germany has acquired the right to build the important links of the Berlin-Baghdad railroad. Due to these measures, the Turkish government became financially dependent on the German Empire, thanks to which Germany acquired a dominant position in the Middle East and gradually took steps to prepare for the upcoming war. The mentioned Turkish-German rapprochement was also beneficial for Abdul Hamid II for solving foreign and domestic political issues and obtaining a powerful German ally. 208
