TНE MOTIVES OF NAPOLEON BONAPARTE´S
EASTERN СAMPAIGN
The article is mostly about the tension in the international relations
which prevailed in Europe in 90-s of the 18th century and about the main
reasons of this strained situation. The motives of Napoleon Bonaparte’s
Eastern Campaign were analyzed, which had not only economic and
political-military aims but scientific as well. At the end of the article the
author draws conclusions of the Campaign and pays attention to the birth of
Egyptology.
