Celebrating free dental care for students

There were smiles all round celebrating free student dental care on World Oral Health Day .
We joined Victorian Health Minister , Mary-Anne Thomas , Dental Health Services Victoria ( DHSV ), students and staff at Glenroy Central Primary School currently home to our Smile Squad .
The Smile Squad program provides free mobile dental care in Victorian state schools in partnership with DHSV .
Over 850 children across six schools in Merri-bek have received dental care from our team since last April .
“ Our Smile Squad team has treated a number of kids who hadn ’ t been to a dentist before and had significant dental issues .”
Maryanne Tadic Merri Health Acting CEO
Evidence shows Smile Squad is providing dental care to many children who would not access it otherwise , helping to reduce the risk of escalating dental problems .
All state schools can access Smile Squad – all they have to do is sign up !
