INNOVATION
Community voice at the centre of our services
We love feedback ! Listening and responding to client feedback helps to improve our services and care for the community .
We proudly launched the first Merri-wide Consumer Advisory Committee ( CAC ) pilot in December – dogs and babies welcome ! The goal is to make it easier for people to share their insights on our programs and services .
Having a say in the planning , design , delivery and evaluation of projects , helps us to provide safe , effective and person-centred services that meet our diverse community ’ s needs .
The CAC pilot is going well , with six projects involved so far ! It will be evaluated later this year .
Supporting better academic outcomes for students interrupted by COVID-19
Primary school students in Merri-bek are set to benefit from a new Federal Government funded program called School Ties .
School Ties aims to improve the academic outcomes , health and wellbeing of students from Foundation to Grade 3 , whose early primary years have been interrupted by COVID-19 .
The program will help us to strengthen our relationship with primary schools and their communities in Merri-bek .
Zabrina the guide dog is a valued committee member !
It will include school-led curriculum interventions , professional development opportunities for school staff , and opportunities for community-led initiatives to connect students and families to service supports and to strengthen their connection with schools .
