Meridian and Lauderdale County residents enjoyed a day of live music , good food , cold drinks , football on the big screen , games and fun Saturday , Oct . 12 , during Meridian ’ s Fall Festival featuring Mitchell Distributing ’ s ninth annual Bud & Burgers event . Held on the city hall lawn in downtown Meridian , the festival and burger cooking competition was sponsored by Mitchell Distributing and First State Bank . Proceeds benefited L . O . V . E .’ s Kitchen . Ticketholders were able to sample from the burger competition and vote for the People ’ s Choice Award . First State Bank took first place in this year ’ s competition followed closely by Castle in second and Mississippi Air National Guard in third . Charlie Beddingfield ’ s Perfection Collision took Best of Show / Team Spirit award , and Castle received a second award for People ’ s Choice . Photos by Damean Graham .
