Meridian Museum of Art hosted a reception Friday , Oct . 4 , for the opening of a new exhibit , “ Path of Light ,” showcasing the works of celebrated artist and Mississippi resident Brent Funderbunk . The William L . Giles Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Mississippi State University , Funderbunk is a 2024 Mississippi Governor ’ s Arts Award recipient . Fellow MSU professors , as well as several former art students , joined Meridian residents in previewing the exhibit , which features 105 works by Funderbunk representing watermedia and oil paintings , pastel , graphite , charcoal and mixed media . Some of the works are on loan from private and public collections . “ Path of Light ” will be on display at Meridian Museum of Art until Nov . 30 . Photos by Glenda Sanders
