Canvases for Cancer , an art auction benefiting Baptist Cancer Center-Anderson , was held Thursday , Oct . 3 , at Mississippi State University Riley Center in downtown Meridian . The auction featured more than 40 works donated by local and regional artists to help support cancer patients living in the community . A fun-filled evening , the event featured live painting demonstrations , music , delicious food , door prizes and a virtual and live auction . Proceeds from Canvases for Cancer will go toward supporting priority initiatives , equipment and educational activities at Baptist Cancer Center-Anderson . Photos by Glenda Sanders
