want to hear about favourite dishes you’ve
had when eating out in Dorset. Who served
you a mind blowing starter? Where did you
have a main course you can’t stop raving
about? Or was there a dessert you need to
have again? It could even be a humble wrap
that made your day. From Michelin star worthy fine dining to perfect pasties, only the
best food makes it onto our monthly menu…

Fish soup at the Harbour Inn Lyme in
Lyme Regis (nominated by Mark John).
This creamy soup is made with fish from
Lyme Bay and fresh salmon.
Mushrooms on toast at the Arbor restaurant in Bournemouth (nominated by
food blogger Adventurous Glutton). Foraged
New Forest mushrooms are the key here. 1
Roast Belly of Pork at the Casterbridge
in Dorchester (nominated by Sophie Dorkings). The pork belly is triple cooked for 18
hours and served with sweet potato purée,
apple and soy, crackling and roasted veg.

Poached eggs at Taste in Dorchester
(nominated by Lizzie Crow from Baking
Birds). She said: “One of my favourites has
been the simplest of meals – poached eggs at
Taste in Dorchester.”

Twitter) “This is completely delicious and a
wonderful lunch.”

Nominated by Anna Ledsham. She said these
Turkish Delight based brownies – ‘just melt
in your mouth and burst with flavour.’

Ben Phillips nominated Koh Thai Tapas
in Bournemouth for its ‘phenomenal Thai
take aways’. He said: “We’ve stopped ordering from anyone else. My favourite is the Koh
Jungle Curry every time.’

Dumplings at Comins Tea House in
Sturminster Newton Jane Somper at
Goldhill Organics nominated the dumplings
because; “They were presented beautifully with an
interesting mix of fish, and a clever use of different
styles of cooking all on one plate. We particularly
loved the small cup of perfect crab bisque.”
