BEAU TOSKICH, M. D.( CLASS OF 2007)
During his time as a student, Beau Toskich, M. D., was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In 2011, he completed the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the University of Florida – Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Two years later, he completed an interventional radiology fellowship at the UF Health Sciences Center in Gainesville.
Toskich currently practices as an interventional oncology radiologist at the Mayo Clinic Florida in Jacksonville. He specializes in primary and metastatic liver cancer and has appointments with the medical oncology division and radiation oncology department. In 2017, Toskich completed a certification in interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology with the American Board of Radiology.
The recipient of numerous honors, he received the Baker Research Award for the best peer-reviewed publication for the 2022-2023 academic year by the Mayo Clinic Florida Department of Radiology. The following year, he was presented with the Excellence through Teamwork Award by the Mayo Clinic Health System. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Oncology, an inaugural participant of the Liver Cancer Center and co-chair of the FSU-Mayo Clinic Joint Task Force.
Thanks to Toskich’ s leadership and guidance, in the spring of 2024 the Mayo Clinic donated the Echosens Fibroscan, an early detection liver scanner, to FSU PrimaryHealth TM, which was the first step towards launching the Florida Healthy Liver Program. At that time, he stated,“ It’ s a shame people have to wait until they are referred to a major transplant center to have access to this device. Our goal is to put it in the hands of primary care physicians— people who can make the most impact with an early diagnosis.” Since then, the groundbreaking device has been diagnosing liver diseases at FSU PrimaryHealthTM and improving the lives of patients.
ROBERT WATSON, M. D.( FACULTY)
Robert Watson, M. D., graduated with a bachelor’ s degree and M. D. from the University of Florida, where he went on to complete a neurology residency and was chief resident. He also completed an internship in surgery at the University of Alabama Medical College and University Hospital in Birmingham. With steadfast dedication to his alma mater, he served as a neurology, neuroscience and clinical psychology professor for over 30 years. He also held a variety of distinguished faculty roles, such as vice chair of the Department of Neurology, the Jules B. Chapman, M. D. Professor in Clinical Care and Humaneness and senior associate dean for Educational Affairs.
Currently a faculty member at the Florida State University College of Medicine, Watson mentors medical students in their first and second years. In this role, he places significant emphasis on the art of medi-
