Examinations Results Leaving Certificate Examinations Results Congratulations to our Leaving Certificate class of 2019. We were delighted to see so many happy faces on August 13 th when the results were distributed. We wish our past students well as they pursue third-level qualifications, apprenticeships and enter the world of work. Junior Cycle Results Examinations Results Congratulations also to our Junior Cycle 2019 students. There were many excited and happy faces milling the Sports Hall on Friday, October 4 th . This year’s results show the impact of change that is being embedded. For the first time, students of Science and Business sat their exam at common level, rather than ordinary or higher level. By 2022, all subjects, except English, Irish and Maths will be examined at common level. The vast majority of our students have chosen to undertake our dynamic Transition Year programme with a minority of students opting for Senior Cycle programmes. We wish you all an exciting year ahead. Junior Cycle Inservice Junior Cycle Staff Training Our teachers are currently undergoing several training days to implement changes at Junior Cycle level. There will be a small number of School Development Days this academic year to facilitate this process. Consequently, both schools will be closed to students on the 7 th & 21 st of October, 9 th of December and the 16 th of March 2020. This year we welcomed a significant 292 MEC students and their parents. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) also kindly provided friendly assistance and refreshments on the night. In 2020, both MPP and MCC will enroll approximately 170 first year students into each perspective school.
