Measuring market orientation of Muscle Pharm Corp. (MSLP:US) ISM - Investment library | Page 3

1. Introduction - business case and project background From the 17th of June to the 30th of August 2013, I worked at Vontobel Asset Management (VUSA) in New York, USA. During my tenure at VUSA I was tasked to build an investment library that would assist Vontobel’s sales staff in understanding and justifying equity security selection decisions, a crucial part of investment portfolio construction and management. In addition, I was asked to re-design and enhance the firm’s factsheet template that summarizes the major aspects of the investment thesis for stocks in Vontobel’s investable universe. The investment library is a tool that aims to help the sales and marketing staff understand and articulate stock selection in VUSA’s investment process to clients, pension funders, consultants and other prospects. I introduced electronic linkages to databases and information systems that enabled data capturing, centralization, efficient search and distribution of data on companies that Vontobel invests in or that are potential candidates for investment (Schlegel, 2013). 1.1. Vontobel Asset Management Inc. VUSA is an international investment management company committed to conducting long-only equity portfolios. Vontobel has currently approximately $49.5 billion assets under management and its clients are both intermediary and institutional.
