Board Meeting Minutes
Motion made by Steve Bobzin , seconded by Ann Goebel , to approve the Entry System and Show Management budget for Champ Show . Motion carried unanimously .
Computer : Jake Flodquist Absent . Jake has agreed to continue to support champshow . org .
Drills and Squares : Marlys Mooney
Menomonie is interested in performing in drills / squares at the State Fair . Drills / squares continues to be a great historical element for WSCA Heritage . James has sent an email to Sam at State Fair with a proposal , to make it worth it for Drills / Squares groups to perform at the State Fair .
Futurity : Josh Tjosaas Absent . Nothing to report .
Historian : Tim Wampfler Absent . Nothing to report .
Judges : Lynn-Ellen St . Martin
There have been a couple of applications that have went out in February . Testing with 2 applicants . Another member is interested in using the apprentice program this year and they have been invited to the Judges Seminar . The Judges committee continues to work on seminar materials . The seminar is to be held March 22 nd -23 rd at Leatherdale Equine Center with Daren Wright as clinician . There are 20-21 judges who have RSVP ’ d so far , and that number is expected to go up .
Marketing & Promotions : Rachel Duenow
All forms have been updated and uploaded to the website . As approved in the budget last month , the Tradeshow Booth display has been ordered . Rachel shared a proof of what the display will look like . It should arrive in time for the current court to use at the upcoming Horse Expo . Steve Tibbetts has been helping to secure a BIG sponsor for Champ Show .
Nominating : Ann Goebel
Three Board positions will be coming open ( Ann Goebel , Keith Sather and Steve Bobzin ). There are a couple people interested in coming back .
Procedures : Sandy Strube Nothing new to report . There will be a procedure change to vote on during the General Meeting later today .
Publicity : Lori Taylor
The current royalty shared their upcoming events which included Royalty Clinic , Horse Expo and Royalty Fundraiser Horse show . They shared that they have wrapped up attending banquets for the year , and recently attended the Skijoring event at Canterbury Park . Ms . Games / Ms . Congeniality Courtney Betsch rode during the event . The court looks forward to all of their activities to come .
Royalty : Bridget Behrns
Bridget presented a 2024 budget for review and approval . There was discussion on increasing the expense portion of the budget to include the cost of purchasing a new Princess crown .
Motion was made Julie Gintner , seconded by Karson Duncanson , to approve the 2024 Royalty Committee budget . Motion carried unanimously .
The list of Queen ’ s Contest incentives including cost was presented for review and approval . The incentive of $ 500 to the Saddle Club whose Queen titles during the contest was discussed .
