WSCA GENERAL MEETING March 1, 2026 2 PM Canterbury Park, Shakopee, MN MINUTES
Board Members Present: Lynn-Ellen St. Martin, Paul Hansen, Dustin Heck, Keith Sather, Courtney Betsch, Lori Taylor, James Duenow, Karson Duncanson
Members Absent: Darcy Berget, Julia Northwick
Meeting was called to order by President Lynn-Ellen St. Martin at 2 PM Public Open Comment: None Secretary’ s Report: Liz Bauer The October 25 th 2025 General Meeting minutes were made available to general delegation.
Motion made by Bob Pawelk( Wright Saddle Club), seconded by Lynn Fischer( Mower County Trailblazers) to approve the October 25, 2026 General Meeting Minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Treasurer’ s Report: Mandy Gustafson WSCA welcomes Mandy Gustafson, to serve as WSCA’ s treasurer.

Balance Sheet and Income Statement was presented; YTD Net Income( Loss) is $ 6,461.34. LYTD was($ 11,646.46). It was noted that the negative difference last year was because we made a $ 10,000 down payment to Simon’ s for 2025 Champ Show rentals.
A motion was made by Arlene Bayer( Osakis Trailblazers), seconded by Dakotah Leach, to approve the February 28, 2026, Treasurer’ s report, subject to audit. Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence: 2026 memberships received to date is 144 clubs. This time last year we were at 151 clubs. Club applications for memberships are due May 15, 2026, and annual online membership lists are due by May 31, 2026. Any clubs that need help getting online to their membership page should contact Liz by emailing secretary @ wsca. org as soon as possible.
Committee Reports:
Awards Banquet: Julia Northwick Julia absent, Paul Hansen reporting. The date for the 2026 WSCA Awards Banquet is Saturday October 24, 2026. The banquet committee is looking into River City Extreme in Monticello and one other location in Otsego, for venue options for the 2026 banquet.
Championship Horse Show: James Duenow
Champ Show 2026 is scheduled for September 24-28, 2026, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The final showbill for Champ Show 2026 has been published in the Spotlight. New classes this year include Futurity 2 yr old halter, Futurity 2 yr old longeline, $ 500 added Jackpot Ranch Pleasure, Pony Key Race and Sr ++ Key Race. Qualification deadline for Champ Show is August 10, 2026, with an August 23, 2026, entry deadline. Ribbons have been
