S4 Science Centre Trip
Our new S4s had a brilliant day at the Science Centre on Wednesday 3 rd June as a thank you for all their fantastic help with the P7 Science Showcase. They explored the exhibits, enjoyed hands-on activities and watched an exciting science film together.
S2 STEM DAY
As part of our IDL week, S2 worked on a STEM challenge to build a device that could send a coded message to a stranded village.
S1 Science Trips
On Friday 1 st May our S1 pupils took their classroom learning out into the real world as part of their year-long projects on renewable energy, reducing waste, and biodiversity— and what a fantastic day they had!
One group headed to Whitelee Wind Farm, exploring how clean energy is generated and seeing Scotland’ s largest wind farm up close. Another group visited Ballast Bank, carrying out water sampling to support their biodiversity studies. Meanwhile, others travelled to Barassie and Troon Beach for environmental surveying and a big litter-picking effort to help protect our local coastline.
P7 Science Showcase
Each team built a device, developed their own code system, and demonstrated their device in action to a panel of judges. Thank you to the IET for developing this activity, we had great fun.
Over the past few months, our Marr cluster P7 pupils have been exploring the world of chemical reactions, creating thoughtful, creative and brilliantly scientific projects in their primary schools.
