Back in December, the Art & Design Department, in partnership with our community friends at Troon Tortoises A. C., launched two exciting design competitions. Our S3 pupils were challenged to design the Finisher T-Shirt for the Troon 10K. With her striking blue gradient and clean, minimalist outline of the race route, Skye Lovett was selected as the overall winner. Our S1 pupils were tasked with creating a new logo for the Troon Tortoises to mark the club’ s 50th Anniversary. Naya Bernard impressed the judges with her bold illustrative design and was chosen as the winner.
Both pupils received a £ 50 prize, a certificate, and were presented with their own Finisher T-Shirts today, Wednesday 13th May, ahead of the race. The standard of entries across both year groups was phenomenal, and Troon Tortoises A. C. commented on how challenging it was to select just one winner from each competition.
Well done to our Advanced Higher Art & Design and Higher Photography pupils, whose final folios have now been submitted for central marking. Our Advanced Higher pupils truly worked right to the wire, and the quality, ambition and creativity of their work is outstanding. Their perseverance, imagination and commitment have been exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Art Department for inspiring and supporting this level of excellence.
