Oxford University - Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators
Graeme Williamson 3D1 has been given a commendation for his translation from French into English for a competition organised by Oxford University , the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators . They received over 3,200 submissions from more than 260 schools and there were over 14,000 pupils who took part in the competition this year .
A team of undergraduates and professional translators have judged entries to the competition and Graeme has been commended as below :

The 6 Week Challenge !
Written by Eve Millar , S4 The 6-week challenge is taking place again at Marr College for the first time without any COVID restrictions ! To celebrate we interviewed our very own Mrs Anderson who coordinates all the fantastic activities each year .
What is the six-week challenge and why do we do it ? " It is a chance for a fresh start and allows people to change their behaviour and get a clean slate ."
What is on this year ? " Lots of trips - Farm Park Trip , Blackpool Pleasure Beach trip and in school we have inflatables , a treasure hunt and more !”
This year ' s events are taking place on the last 3 days of term , kicking off on Monday 27th June with a Day of Sport . Every pupil and teacher will be taking part .
