I want to open this issue of TM3
by acknowledging the crazy days
that we are living through right
now. These are certainly difficult
times for most businesses, including
for us here at Tulip Media.
Over the last number of weeks, I’ve
worked tirelessly to help companies,
Client-Partners, and countless
others by offering an endless series
of free webinars and workshops.
I’m fortunate enough to have the
experience, or what my kids call “the
gray hairs,” that come with being a
lifelong student of the business world.
As a Scaling Up coach, I’ve had the
opportunity to explore businesses in many
industries in great depth, which puts
me in a unique position to help others.
I’ve been sharing videos and insights
on our website and on a daily basis
through LinkedIn. I welcome you to
connect with me on LinkedIn if we
aren’t connected already. The feedback
I’ve gotten has been tremendous, and
it really makes me feel good to help.
Tulip Media has not been immune to
this pandemic. In just the first week,
we lost about 20 percent of our Client-
Partners. The reality is that many
businesses are going to struggle for a
long time and, unfortunately, many
businesses will not make it through.
Those Client-Partners remaining are
following a progressive business model
and going strong. We’re working with
these proactive businesses to continue
forging effective communication channels
and modifying strategies. We’ve been
offering additional services over and
above regular engagements, working
hard to help in any way possible with
marketing and communications needs.
Now that we’ve turned the corner coming
into early summer, we’re finding a lot of
other businesses beginning to think the
same way. In fact, after losing about 30
percent of our Client-Partner base in the
first few weeks of COVID-19, we have
actually resurged and come back stronger
than before the pandemic in sales.
So many businesses are inspired right
now to move forward and own their
destiny, investing in their marketing
so they can grow their businesses into
summer and fall of 2020. We’re working
with them every step along the way.
There are a number of us that are finding
the opportunity in this chaos by being
proactive, aggressively developing a
pivot strategy, and finding new ways
to approach the marketplace.
Like many others, the whole team at
Tulip Media deserves to be commended.
We’ve been working from home for
many weeks now and this crisis
has permanently changed the way
that we operate internally as well as
impacted our service offerings.
We have made pivots to move processes
online and build a digital workplace very
quickly. We’ve modified strategies and
adjusted campaigns for Client-Partners
to use primarily pay-per-click ads,
which is where we’re seeing the majority
of growth happening at this time.
I applaud every single one of those
businesses and business leaders for
deciding to persevere and find the
opportunity in this chaos. You are the
ones looking forward to a brighter future.
Wherever you are in business, whatever
your situation may be right now, know
that you are not alone. I am thinking
of you and wishing you the best. I hope
that you also find the opportunity in this
chaos to make a pivot and resurge.
