6. Broaden Your Horizon

After you get the hang of it and develop a decent fanbase, expand and look for other trending opportunities via the web to promote your brand. There are many different social media sites outside of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Try other social sites such as Groupon, Living Social, Tumblr and interactive blogs.

7. Stalk Competitors

Don't forget to see what your competition is doing. What kind of promotion, giveaways, content etc. are they posting. From looking at what others are doing on their social media sites, you can generate ideas of your own that could be just as effective and create more buzz about your brand. Remember your goal is to strive to be more relevant than your competitors.

9. Get Feedback

Remember the blog I mentioned in Step 6? Implement a blog specifically for consumer feedback and customer service. Now days, people want immediate access to representatives that will help them solve their problems. This is also a way to divert negative reviews to a low-key destination.

8. Timing Is Everything

All content posted to your social media sites are important, you want to make sure everything posted gets enough exposure for users scrolling down their time line or news feed. Create a calendar to help keep track of current and future promotions.

10. Measure Success

It is always important to reflect back on how far you have come from the beginning of your social media journey. After you feel that you have established a good place and accomplished your goals. Make it known, and post about how many followers or likes you have, and thank those users for continuing to be involved with the success of your brand.
